Kapsali is a must-see tourist destination in Kythera’s Hora. This enclosed natural harbour located just below the Castle of Hora is an ideal way station for yachts and other watercraft. During English occupation the Lazareto, or ‘quarantine port’, operated here, as did the local aqueduct, known as the ‘tank’.
Kapsali has many excellent hotels, taverns, bars and cafés. Because of the port’s natural configuration, its bay is protected from the strong northern winds in the summer, making the beach ideal for swimming and water sports.
